7/22/2009 7:53:16 AM I used to have a terrible, completely irrational fear of heights when I was younger.... couldn't even climb up on a stepladder without getting shaky.... that tower was what got me over it. Climbed it once, went bungie jumping a few days later, no more fear. I still haven't tried skydiving, though.... mostly due to economic factors. This is cheap fun.... at least until you get caught and handed a trespassing fine. Funny, my best friend was out here visiting from Sydney this past weekend, and he and his wife were calling me the new spiderman and enticing me into coming for a visit by listing off all of the Sydney landmarks that have climbing potential. Who knows, maybe I'll end up getting arrested in your fine city one of these days ;) You'll definitely be kept in the loop when I've got some new music ready to go. Considering that my "loop" consists of about three people, I shouldn't have much trouble remembering everybody....
7/18/2009 7:02:19 AM Right, right.... sorry about that. I made that one private and uploaded a slightly different version. I felt it was best to obscure my face due to the questionable legality of my activities in the video. Here's the publicly viewable version: Well, not too much on my page at the moment, but a lot of new stuffsome of it surprisingly musicalis in the works.... too much going on in real life to make it quick and easy, though. I'll upload some of the newer, unfinished works in the coming days and send you a download link. Who knows, there might even be something you'd feel inspired to collaborate on.
7/6/2009 3:35:40 PM Hello, sir. Before I sully your page with my nonsense, I should mention that "Beautiful" is a fantastic track. Really outstanding. Yours is the only page on IAC (well, the only page on IAC with more than two songs posted) that I can listen to the entire track list in one sitting and still want to hear more. I am Shank's fawning sycophant.... Alright, here's a video I shot the other day.... not 100% legal, not 100% safe, but a whole lot of fun. Probably not as exciting to watch as it was to actually do, but it's a perfect excuse to listen to my didgeri-drone piece, Vitoslava... not that you'd need any excuse. Right, 'ere it is:
9/24/2008 1:16:59 AM Wow, it's a wonderful honor to have a write-up like that next to my name, but I really must take issue with one thing: truthfully, I'm so in awe of my own genius that I quite often take to boasting about myself to complete strangers.... Seriously though, many thanks, kind sir.
9/8/2008 3:51:16 PM Yes! The bowel movement, haha. Don't forget to get your daily dose of fiber!
9/2/2008 12:52:27 PM Haha, sounds good to me. People could learn from our genius intellect. :) Thanks for the kind words and support, glad you liked the tune. I was listening to a bit of your stuff earlier,it's really good I must say. There's not a lot I find interesting on IAC, but you're definitely an exception. Gonna go browse some more and pick up a song or two for my station. Cheers
9/1/2008 2:00:31 AM I'm glad I hassled you, too. I'm a huge fan of all the shades of grey. An even nicer feeling than receiving compliments or being artistically "validated" is simply realizing that there are humans out there who are on the same page philosophically, and who create art for the same reasons. To me, that alone is far more valuable than a million compliments/dollars/whatevers.
8/30/2008 5:30:22 PM It really does feel good, but I tend to think that favourable reviews and/or approval from peers can be just as detrimental (if not more so) to an artist as negative commentary; in that both have the potential to influence an artist to deviate from their true path. That probably sounds a bit pretentious, but I do think there's something to be said for N. Senada's Theory of Obscurity. With that said, I hereby promise to refrain from any future compliments regarding your music no matter how brilliant I happen to think it is. I do, of course, reserve the right to temporarily break said promise if/when you decide to upload Superpower to your page.
8/27/2008 12:07:59 AM Very nice. Superpower just slayed me when I first heard it - it's truly a fantastic piece of work. I'll be happy to have the opportunity to add it to my station here. I can't thank you enough for the station adds. Your comment on Vitoslava tripped me out completely. There was a whole sequence of events surrounding the creation of that piece which resulted in it being profoundly significant to me as an artist. I've only ever tried to explain that particular significance to one other person, but your comment makes it sound as though it was you who I explained it to. Weird, but totally cool to read those words. I hope the links from my page took you on a worthwhile journey.... or at least an amusing side-trip. -Gremislav
