Little Darlin'
Happy my falsetto vocals had a second life in 2018 and were just about as good as they were 60 years ago when I was a teenager, making my intro as electrifying and exciting (my words, lol) as Dave Somerville's intro of The Diamonds 1957 hit cover of “Little Darlin’" written by Maurice Williams.

What We Could've Had
HEARTLAND COUNTRY ROCK ® … Inspired by 3X Grammy winning songwriter and Nashville music producer, Seth Mosley, to throw away everything I had done before when writing a song, bare my soul and pull from deep within. The lyrics rolled out in a matter of minutes as if they had been waiting for that very moment in my life to be written. It was a surreal writing experience resulting in a song in a new genre that I have coined Heartland Country Rock®. You heard it here first.

I was near the peak of my teenage years in 1959, Mortamor - your birth year you say ... I was a budding songwriter - wrote two songs in '59 that made the cut for my debut album - one about the girl I was sweet on in high school - we married 5 years later.
I have many to thank for my chance at having a "second coming" in life and which gave me the chance to have a "second shot at coming" here at IAC/IMP - notwithstanding the current setback my wife and I are experiencing as a result of losing our elder daughter a month ago today.
Enjoy the present, Mortamor, and take nothing for granted because it is not ours.

Hello Mortimer, my apologies for taking such a long, long time to reply to your question further below.
Like myself, until just the last couple of weeks, my music and songs paid a painful price of going dark following my cancer surgery three and a half years ago and during my subsequent period of remission – still a battle however having spent half of this year in the hospital waging war on related health issues.
While my return to IAC / IMP is bittersweet - for personal reasons, regardless, my music and songs will survive and pass the test of time. Thanks to a tentative new lease on life I am still writing songs, the most recent to a new track produced in Nashville. I am currently working on my rusty vocals preparing for taking the song into the studio.
Life’s a marathon, Mortimer, and while I’ll be turning 84 next month I’m determined to run many more miles before crossing the finish line.
Thank you also for your expression re my multi-award winning song, “What In The World Is The World Coming To”.
Wishing you all the best in the New Year,
Neil

Thank you, Jimmy, for your kind words.
Great to talk to you a few days ago!
Your song, “Darling, Vows of Love - 1984”, is classic - a winner by all regards in the test of time and in the world of music!! IMHO it has "Golden Kayak" written all over it.
Luv ya, Jimmy!
