About Lorens John: Lorens’ versatile songwriting abilities and wide-ranging vocals, afforded him a unique sound that invokes Country and Pop while resonating of an international quality and feel. Lorens’ passion for music is truly unique and knows no borders as he freely writes and expresses himself in many genres. Listening to his tracks you will quickly immerse yourself in distinct styles of Country/Pop-Rock music (Nashville, Tex-Mex, & California), each song exposed to a varied range of instruments. Lorens’ eclectic style stems from world influences having lived in 5 countries and on three continents. As a child he was exposed to Bavarian music and learned to play the flute in Singen, Germany. Also, as a young man he learned to play the quitar and performed in many Churches and sang ancient Hymns and Croatian Folk songs. More recently his influences stem from American Country, Blues and Jazz music which is visible in these latest compositions. Since he was 11, his attention turned to melodic composition and the craft of songwriting, and by applying his world experiences and influences, Lorens has since composed well over 300 songs. As a performer, Lorens’ is very energetic, passionate and his emotions are truly felt through his performances. Born Lorens John Kresic, Lorens grew up mostly in Canada as well as in Croatia, Germany and Australia. Lorens attended Thistletown Collegiate High School, and went to Lakehead University in Canada, for his undergraduate education and then obtained his Masters certification and Project Management Professional credential (PMP) from University of Washington, D.C. and McMaster University. However, all those differential equations haven’t been able to keep Lorens away from his passion of composing great and passionate music. Lorens’ teamed up with a talented Canadian cast of musicians from Hamilton, Ontario for the Studio recordings of Full Time, Keep Hope Alive, and Somebody. The cast includes Lorens John on lead vocals, Joe Alain on Steel Pedal, John Lewis & Walter Cernile on lead guitars, Dr. Rosana Benitez on back-up vocals, Randal Hill on mandolin, and John Setej on base, drums, and as producer. Lorens’ catchy tunes, which incorporate great guitar hooks & licks, accompanied with catchy lyrics and a very mature sound, has earned him accolades with seasoned listeners of Country, Pop and world music. That said, his genre breaks beyond the barriers of Country, without sacrificing any of its “true to heart” lyrics and rhythms. Lorens’ current influences are the likes of Vince Gill, Kenny Chesney, James Taylor, Brooks and Dunn, Trisha Yearwood to name a few. He also enjoys listening to greats like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Elvis Presley, & Johnny Cash.
