WELCOME TO 'THE ORCHARD' !.
As with all stations, I just 'pick' what I like and hope you like them too! I like a lot of different kinds of music so with a bit of luck I hope you will find my choices both interesting and varied. Before I discovered IAC I would spend hours thumbing through my record collection whilst hearing every track in my head without ever having to play them... yet again. I was bored and I was disillusioned. Not now! There are so many great artist writing such great songs out there! It's an 'absolute pleasure' to listen to music that has not only uplifted me but restored my faith in the fact that the Majors & MTV know nothing! . Good luck to you all and THANK YOU! Whatever success means to you... I hope you find your own way to it!... I have been away for a while... but now I have returned !!. You lot make such great music ! THANK YOU ! You know who you are...and you SHINE ! Adam

Really original song craft. I just love how Lee phases the words. I just love the way she feels her way around the edges of the words. Song craft ? Better than this
A driving and energetic song by German band Fidget. You may well think that this song is just going to be yet another run of the mill post punk tune. However, this band pull out the unexpected by introducing a master stroke in the middle of this track which includes a brass section coupled with an old school Hammond Organ sound. You need to play this track with the volume turned up which unless you happen to be dead will invoke you to bounce along with it. added to station 5/31/2006 5:52:27 PM

Leaves Do Fall
A solid track here from The Rosebuds as they embrace us with a magnificent chorus hook line, driving beat and Duane Eddyesk guitar work. ( Eddyesk ? Where the hell did that come from? ) I had no idea that this song had actually reached the number 1 spot on IAC until I just read it now. Life Without Lolly
Grieving for a loved one can take on many shades. Kid Wezel's beautifully crafted song sits in the middle of having to cope with everyday 'normal' life whilst feeling everything is anything but. I don't know who Lolly was, but we can all change the name in this song to know someone we miss in just the same way. Isn't that what a great song can do? added to station 5/26/2006 10:57:08 AM

Indiscriminate Act of Kindness
I've been lucky enough to have seen two of Foy's gigs. I was deeply impressed after the first gig and doubly so after the second. Foy is a great songwriter who has the ability to hold an audience in the palm of his hand. If ever there was a man tipped for great things ahead then this is the guy I would bet on. The Poems
The Tall Trees
The Poems are more than happy to give their listener a bag full of reasons to like their music. Take your pick or take em all. They have had a problem with their upload to IAC which results in the song cutting out towards the end. I have left the band a message and hopefully they will get it sorted out. In the meantime...there is still more than enough of the song to get your teeth into. added to station 5/27/2006 6:22:33 PM

Low
WARNING ! Cracker are a band that are highly contagious. The guitar sound they achieve is infectious and the accordion outbreak towards the end may well start some kind of mass global epidemic. Alas I fear that it is too late for me as I was exposed to the full song from beginning to end. If this band should ever escape from their quarantine within IAC I predict that the entire world will be contaminated by The Cracker Virus. However, maybe that's not such a bad thing? added to station 6/1/2006 10:22:21 AM

Jon Vandergriff
Pastel Robots
I think it best just to write what Jon himself wrote about his music and Pastel Robots. " My favorite "sound" in all music is what I call a " candied apple " sound. It's a twist of the light hearted, quirky, and evil. It reminds me of pastel red, green, blue, yellow and purple houses...in suburbia on a spring day, but there's a dark twist to everything. The sound is truly unique. It's not a particular film...Imagine hundreds of tiny robots from the 1950s scurrying about the floor as they construct some evil machine, whose purpose is maniacal and wholly un-good" Once you are armed with these facts try closing your eyes and letting your imagination do the rest! Jon says that he 'wrote this for fun'. The orchestration within this music only makes me hope that Jon may consider (If he has not done so already) a 'serious' move towards a career within the film industry. Stunning ! added to station 6/1/2006 11:25:52 AM

Wish Away
Serena believes in fate and that a heart can lead someone to a song when it wants to. I like that idea. It also seemed more than a little ironic as I found Serena sitting there in the dark shining like a lost diamond on page 300 and somethin'. Her voice has an unmistakable emotional quality that can take you to a place that you can almost touch. moment of truth
Although I can hear a lot of other bands influences within this track it makes no difference what-so-ever as to how this band just take off and nail this song down as their own. The band pump out more energy than a stuck fuel rod in a crumbling Soviet reactor. The production is clean which only goes to enhance the superb guitar sound that no doubt blew the lid right off the top of their recording studio. Buy a Dog
Here's a band that REALLY know how to write a great pop tune. Some people can be dismissive about pop and tend to think it's somehow both easy to do and somewhat disposable. Those of us that have sat around for years trying in one form or another will know that you have to sweat blood in order to come up with 'the one' that truly works. Luce have come up with a track called 'Buy a Dog'. Commercialy... If this band got picked up by a major I have no doubt that they would sell A LOT of records. added to station 6/16/2006 9:56:36 AM

Jess Pillmore produces a song here that is as entrancing as it is haunting. I love the movement within the song and how it seems to hover and swirl almost smoke or mist like in its nature.
