Coming Home © Dirge K 2004

Walking through the destitutes,
I see I’ve got a friend in me,
I realise the delta stream has been trailing at my feet.

I’m coming home,
Runnin’ all the way,
I’m coming home.

I had a friend, let’s call her Phoenix,
She looked up like she’d seen a ghost,
The shock had set in before I could explain
That I was coming home.

I’m coming home,
running all the way,
I’m coming home.

Wherever I’m not wanted,
That’s where I want to be.
The scream-filled memories
Looking back, seem to make for
a homely smokescreen,
I’m coming home.

Through my sojourn I wonder how
my return will spin this carousel,
At least they’ll know, I’ve learned alone how to abuse myself,
I’m coming home.

Possibly knowing of her limited time here, and all of the mistakes she's made, the powerful spirit and voice of DirgeK make it clear that she Doesn't want to leave of her own accord. Trailed by the timeless dark power which has stalked and engulfed many gifted human beings and artists plagued by that 'emptiness and pain' which can't be found nor cured, DirgeK pours it all out with this miraculous display of truth and heart...images of Joplin immediately come to mind along with many other iconic soul-sisters of music. May you R.I.P.-you wonderfully talented little lady..you left us too soon! Fantastic musicianship and interaction by all the players on this one.

=WILD FRONTIERS=
Blues so smooth that the Soul can't confuse...organ and guitars and melting-crooning vocals will make you.... 'Open the Door'...wishing DirgeK would walk in...and that you could tell her...You are Beautiful! Light the candles and incense on this one...and Turn Up The Magic of DirgeK!

INDIE SPIRIT
Dirge K was born on 5th October 1981 and died on 3rd October 2006 aged 24. At school she played the flute and read music. She taught herself to play the guitar and the electric organ and loved to sing. She spent hours practicing her singing notes. She started collaborating with other musicians on the internet at various music collaboration sites in 2003. She wrote all her own lyrics and used Cubase for AppleMac for recording her vocals and did all her recording in the dining room or kitchen of her house.

Phamous Phlegm Phavourites
This artist was so amazing, and left us WAY before she SHOULD have. Here's one example of an amazing Indie Artist who passed on 10/3/2006; about the time I joined IAC.... So here she is, with her single awarded BEST Indie Artist of 2007! And I couldn't agree more...
