The Lenda of Yara is part of a long project called "Lendas Of Brasil" by Fabinho Carioca and it tells a story of a young indian girl that was turned into a mermaid after she was cursed by her father for killing in self defense two of her brothers.
The legend says that Yara appears by the rock of the slops, hypnotizing men with her enchanted beautiful singing then taking them to a certain death at the bottom of the river!
