Please Don't get me wrong
I've lived good and long
But some things I would change
If I could
I would not cut the seam
Of a young musician's dream
By not tying all the strings
That I should
I would not shy away
From a dying friend's bay
it was too easy to be

Not worried that nothing lasts
The days, the months and the years got
away
Too late to amend the past
No way to undo

No way to do what I should have done

For I gained a woman but I lost
A friend
I knew it was a crime
Not to give of my time
When my children needed it

As if I were in danger
