In memory of my beloved sister Deborah Ellis 1967-1991. Her poetry to music

Love Me

How is it that you can see so much in me?
What I was, what I am, what I can be
But with that wisdom, you know not when to help
Or keep your distance
If I could I would tell you
But I see so very little of me
Every thought is hazy masked by
Emotions I cannot control
But in my time of weakness
I am still who I am
I lay no blame for that
With the damage done
I ask only that you love me
Love me for who I was
Love me for who I am
And for what I can become

THE SAD SONGS
This page is dedicated to the memory of my sister Deborah Ellis, who passed away 20 years ago in 1991, after a short but troubled life. Debbie wrote some poetry before she left, and this has been put to music on an album called 'The Moth and Light
