Blazing guitar leading to a heart-felt mesage in a resounding, lush chorus.

Lyrics/Music/Singing/Playing/Cheeseball/Aranging/Recording: Tom O'Brien

Wrote this in the winter 0f 2009, noticing all the street people and thinking how this time of year, be it Christmas or Hannukah, or Kwaanza or whatever, brings out kindness in people.
The winter sun sets early
It's only half past five
The winter heart grows heavy
But it keeps us all alive
And in this world of darkness
A spirit lights the way
Each little act of kindness
Helps us make it through the day

This is your reminder
It's given with good cheer
To be a little kinder
In the darkest time of year
Everyone's a stranger
Till you let them in your heart
You can be their savior
And love is where you start

The logs are on the fire
Outside it starts to snow
You know there's people out there
Who have no place to go
You're feeling kind of helpless
You can't take them all in
You wish you could do something
Ignoring is a sin

(Chorus)

Treat yourself more kindly
And do althat you can
To find the grace within you
To help your fellow man
Love can warm the winter
Let your spirit glow
Sing up to the heavens
But do the work below

(Chorus) x
