I was driving in my car
during a heat wave.
I was traveling really, really far
During a heat wave
All I see is the desert ahead
I got the top let down and wind in my hair
Don't know where Im goin
Don’t have any plans
It just me in this deserted land
I pulled on over to the side of the road
During a heat wave
I climbed into the rear seat to sleep
During a heat wave.
I started to dream about the rain
I wanted it to come back and to cool me again
I heard a loud noise it shook my car
There was a thunder storm it wasn’t far.
I closed the rag top and stepped out the car.
I took off all my clothes and I gazed at the stars
One by one the stars began to disappear
As the clouds rolled in I raised up my hands
I caught each and every little rain drop
And then I said good bye to my fears
During a heat wave.
