There was a Big Storm a'brewin in 2005. You might have heard about it.

THE MAINLAND

Over the sea the currents are turning
Faster and faster they spin through the night
Weatherman said, “They might reach the Mainland.”
God bless the Mainland tonight

Dawn breaks the day, just like any other
Handfuls of sunshine stream down from the sky
Cool drifts the breeze out over the water
Oh, what a beautiful sight!

But here come the waves swelling and swaying
Out from their seabed they jump to the shore
Gone is the breeze replaced by a whirlwind
Is anyone there anymore?

Churning, burning up the coast this is what we feared the most
Washing trains and planes and boats away
People hiding in their homes, hear them as they scream and moan
Mother Nature’s on the phone today
Maybe we can ride it out not much left to talk about
Should’ve listened when they shouted go!
Now the darkness setting in gazing at the eye of sin…oh!

And when it rains it rains, and when it pours it pours
Won't do any good to hide indoors

And over the sea the currents keep turning
One from the other they spawn in the night
Weatherman said, “They might reach the Mainland.”
God bless the Mainland tonight…tonight
