Little Mac, you're with the angels

Lelja, the guardian of Little Mac's memorial page at The Rainbow Bridge website, asked us to write a song to remember this beautiful young golden retriever pup who suffered so terribly in his short life.
One of the hardest things to do is to read about the horror of animal cruelty. It never gets any easier and I can't find the words to write about what was done to Little Mac.
Little Mac was a year old. He wasn't given the chance to grow up.

Little Mac, Lelja wrote and told me what was done to you
I cried so much, you went to hell and back

Why is this life so cruel?
