SHINING THROUGH

Somebody wadin’ in the water
Lookin’ out for the Promised Land
Tryin’ to hold his feet to the fire
Tryin’ to walk like a decent man
Devil’s tryin’ to make you do it
Got you on the run
Tryin’ to play by all the rules
But that just ain’t no fun

How you gonna chase that lonely
Where you goin’ in the middle of the night
Wish you had someone to hold you
Lookin’ out for the mornin’ light
Devil casts a giant shadow
And I know it’s true
Quiet life of desperation
That ain’t gonna do

CHORUS:
I’ve been to the crossroads and I’m here to say
I don’t always walk the straight and narrow way
When I see the shadows in the midnight blue
I know it’s dark before the dawn
When the light comes
Light comes shinin’ through

Somebody wadin’ in the water
Lookin’ out for the Promised Land
Tryin’ to hold his feet to the fire
Tryin’ to walk like a decent man
Devil casts a giant shadow
And I know it’s true
Quiet life of desperation
That ain’t gonna do

CHORUS

Country Folk & Blue Shades of Grass
Love the Village Jammers!

These guys are phenomenal musicians with great tunes!! I am a new fan. I could easily add all of their songs here, so you should go check out their page for yourself.

Road Movie..
REally cool spacious country blues with that free-spirited freeway driving vibe in spades..Groovy and evocative with a fab vocal and wonderful guitaring to boot..

Getting Back in the Swing
I have to admit that this was the first song I clicked on, on the Village Jammers page and I was immediately tapping my feet and listening to it multiple times. I've always considered bluegrass to be a sort of 'rural' version of jazz, focusing as much on musicianship as the song itself. This song is a great, rollicking example of that. The lyrics about trying to walk the straight and narrow despite that old debbil, the Devil, are entertaining and well-delivered. Btw, I've since listened to the other tracks on their page and can say that they're all up to this standard. Great tunes and a lot of fun.
