Necessary Evil

He walks through the door
late at night
with a rage
she should have expected

the light grows dim and
she pulls up the covers
to not reveal her eyes awake,
she shuts them tight,
she takes a breath
she’s asleep if only
for the moment

He’s her necessary evil
something she always
felt that she deserved
but, is he a necessary evil
for the child
that grows within

A daydream
takes her far away
to a place
where happiness lives
the talk at home
brings her back
to the rain
of cold in her heart
the baby stirs,
the cries grow loud
and he takes
a chair into the wall

And she cries and she dies
just a little bit
every time he hits

she packs her bags
for the journey ahead,
the long road
she must face alone
he plagues her days
and haunts her nights
but there’s grace where
the soul stands strong
she takes a step
she takes a breath
today, she walks tall

Women I'd Marry Tomorrow If I Wasn't So Damn Ugly
Listen. I'm a monster, but even I wouldn't hit a momen. Or a child. Or a man. There are monsters, and then there are some people...sheesh. This is a 'shout against domestic violence'

Stylus
In the singers words 'A shout against domestic violence'. Great voice, great tune with an interesting mix, and the message should be heard.
