And tonight I will dream that the water, it will recede

by Cary Kembla

WAITING FOR THE BRIDGE TO OPEN

For three long weeks here
The leaden sky cried on my roof
The creek is peaking
It may subside but there's no proof

And tonight I will dream
That the water, it will recede
And I'll make it to town, here's to hoping
But as I languish here
Oh it seems like an eternity
Waiting for the bridge to open

I tread the larder
The lonely shelves' supplies are low
I spread the butter
Wondering how far it can go

And tonight I will dream
That the water, it will recede
And I'll make it to town, here's to hoping
But as I languish here
Oh it seems like an eternity
Waiting for the bridge to open

Separating
The clouds permit a glimpse of the sun
Illuminating
For a minute all I had won

And tonight I will dream
That the water, it will recede
And I'll make it to town, here's to hoping
But as I languish here
Oh it seems like an eternity
Waiting for the bridge to open

Expedition
Incredible sorrowful folk gem. The interplay between acoustic and electric guitars provide an interesting textured foundation, while the harmonies allow the song to soar. There's a very old timey charm to this song which gives it an inviting atmosphere. One of my favourite songs on IMP!

UNDER THE COVERS
Americana at it’s best, anthemic and authentic.

A NEW DAWN A NEW DAY
Beautiful guitar intro and it unwinds wonderfully throughout The music has a rich tapestry of sounds and tasty treatments. The Song is A wonderful listen, excellent vocals and bgs . Well appointed lead guitar work that supplements and supports the song is appreciated. Good tune! the eYe
