Lyrics and Music:Izabela Rekowska

Izzy & the Black Trees bring you their first single "Winter's Coming Down", a ballad with a dark lynchesque swing about a broken love. Influenced by american folk songwriting, artists such as Nick Cave, Pj Harvey, Queens of the Stone Age and late night travels - the band takes a deep dive for your heart.
Heard the birds, they were humming, winter's coming down
Shattered silence hit the town, winter's coming down
On the pond ice hardened, winter's coming down
Two lovers sadly parted, winter's coming down

Mary came with hope in her hands
but he refused to start the dance
He said Mary times'a'hard it is snowing in my yard
Winds'a'blowin' crows'a' showin'
winter's coming down, winter's coming down

On her lips, shattered words and smoke
On her lips, shattered words and smoke
On her lips, shattered words and smoke

There's a light in a chapel where people gather around
Some are poor some wealthy, they were looking to be found
On the side sat Mary listened the bells chime
Crows came to sit beside her, together they found a rhyme
On her lips taste of bitter her hands bitten by frost
I am cursing the heartless winter she took the love of mine

I am cursing the heartless winter she took the love of mine
I am cursing the heartless winter she took the love of mine
I am cursing the heartless winter she took the love of mine

Folk Americana with a twist of bluesy vibe, great instrumentation, its all about the music, and folks this is music to be shared and enjoyed. Long intro but worth the wait. sweet touches of special treatments throughout. That bass line is killer in places, moves wonderfully, gets dirty and gritty at the end.its a well arranged work, thought provoking, and inspiring, love the whole essence of what goes on in this song.
