England's a democracy now, relatively rare among the nations in the world.

Many countries face similar isssues, military control or democracy.

The world is my country,
all mankind are my brethren,
and to do good is my religion.”
Thomas Paine
Tom Paine

Didn't wanna serve old king George
Didn't wanna serve the crown
His destiny lay elsewhere
In the cold new England town
Ben Frankin came in one morning
John Adams the next
They talked about human rights
While he ran his printin' press
Printin '"these are the times that try men's souls
These are the times"
Let em roll"
Time'll tell" says Tom Paine

Says Tom "we should shine together
We should carry the torch
Democracy should light the way
Or likely we'll be scorched
The sun also rises
And the birds do sing
Across our country
Let the chimes of freedom ring
"These are the times that try men's souls
These are the times"
Let em roll
Common sense makes sense, says Tom Paine

John Adams said George Washington's sword
Might have been in vain
If not for the golden hand
The fountain pen of young Tom Paine
Napoleon said he kept
His book under his pillow
The little dictator fooled him
With wine au portabello
"These are the times that try men's souls
These are the times"
Let em roll
No gain without pain, Tom Paine x

serendipity redux
It's not easy to pick just one of Steve's songs, as they cover such a range of styles; so perhaps this one chose itself because a) I'm possibly an unreconstructed folkie at heart, and b) it's July 4th. Oh, and I've been listening to Neil Young recently

The Gatekeeper
perhaps one of Steve's best newer releases of late. On this adventure he captures some of that Dylanequse vibe.some stellar bass work, fine guitar and refreshing piano chops happening. he has ventured to working some better chordal transitions and progressions and works in a nice bridge too. What I really notice here is the solid vocals staying within his range and a noticeable improvement in pitch with no wavering , this key works for him well. its a wonderful work he shares and he travels with you on a historical journey. great ballad and well produced. one of his best releases of the year and in my opinion one of the top 3 of the many he has done
