(Music Introduction with harmonica)
I met her out on Quarry Street
When I was a human miner.
I thought she was at my beck and call.
Away she led me to her lair
Where time no longer held meaning,
On stormy wings of want we flew. I said,
“Blue Opal, Miss Noble,
Why do you steal my heart?
Do you need it to gather dust,
Inside your jewelry box?
It was the night, which captured me,
And left me in her protection.
I was a stone within her wall.
She reminded me of that point
Between intoxication and release
She led me to the fire within her flue.
She said “Blue Opal Mr. Noble
Why do you act the same?
Do I not take a little too much
From your precious vein?
(Lead guitar break)
She was that chip of fire blue,
That was caught at an angle,
When just about all the light was gone.
It seems she was never through,
The night was her favorite season,
While I was just trying to greet the dawn.
I said, “Blue Opal Miss Noble,
Why do you steal my heart?
Do you need it to gather dust,
Inside your jewelry box?”
(harmonica music and fade)
