Calypso-flavored tune with maybe the most-dynamic melody that I've ever written. Probably covers a couple of octaves, which is challenging for me. But I think that it's a nice melody and a lot of fun to play.

A Perfect Girl, A Perfect Tune

1.
I forgot to close the blinds the night before
And I know that my window faces east
The light came pouring through in the morning
It burned my eyes in slashing, white-hot streaks

(Pre-chorus)
So I groped around my room to find the dresser
To prepare myself for the day ahead

(Chorus)
And I never could have known what was coming
A perfect girl, humming a perfect tune
I got scared at what I felt and started running
Away and into love with you

2.
I forgot to close the blinds sort-of on-purpose
Because I didn’t really want to have to see
I thought that I could hide just like a child –
What I can’t see, I know cannot see me

(Pre-chorus)
So I groped around my bed to find the blankets
To cower in the comfort of my room

(Chorus)
And I never could have known what was coming
A perfect girl humming a perfect tune
I got scared at what I felt and started running
Away and into love with you

(Pre-chorus)
And I groped around my life to find some answers
I was not prepared for what happened next

(Chorus)
So I never could have known what was coming
A perfect girl humming a perfect tune
I got scared at what I felt and started running
Away and into love with you

Todd is working his groove from a different perspective these days, way more organic releases and has decided that a stripped down acoustic approach is currently the way to go. I like that, trust your musicianship and do the coffee house folk thing.

Finnegans Wake Book 1 Chapter 6
11. If you met on the binge a poor acheseyeld from Ailing, when the tune of his tremble shook shimmy on shin, while his countrary raged in the weak of his wailing, like a rugilant pugi- lant Lyon O'Lynn; if he maundered in misliness, plaining his plight or, played fox and lice, pricking and dropping hips teeth, or wringing his handcuffs for peace, the blind blighter, praying Dieuf and Domb Nostrums foh thomethinks to eath; if he weapt while he leapt and guffalled quith a quhimper, made cold blood a blue mundy and no bones without flech, taking kiss, kake or kick with a suck, sigh or simper, a diffle to larn and a dibble to lech; if the fain shinner pegged you to shave his im- martial, wee skillmustered shoul with his ooh, hoodoodoo! brok- ing wind that to wiles, woemaid sin he was partial, we don't think, Jones, we'd care to this evening, would you?
