Artists who do the hard work themselses, lyrics, music, and their own voices.
It does'nt matter if they think their not good singers.
What does matter is that they put themselves out there all on their own.

Nice idea Norm , I like it, although I think that it may come across that we are having Suno make up the songs completely which is not true in my case, this is a tool to assist in getting better production and assistance in furthering the quality of the songs. Its like polishing them up. I know myself and Larree and Donna write our own music, melodies, play instruments or have others step in and help us out to assist in our endeavors
I have done all my own songs for years,starting way back in '75, 1975 that is. some songs have been recorded in studios , some in my home studio and a lot are mostly instrumentals acoustic piano,some live at gigs with me singing with acoustic piano, some electric piano with synthesizers some with actual percussion some with samples of percussion etc
The songs I have uploaded to Suno are mine, performed by me whether acoustic, and multi-instrumentalists assisting , some recorded live , i do NOT make up songs at suno, I send in the lyrics or the music doing my own singing which is actually pretty good imo and others have said so as well. I note the ones i used assistance of Suno, but they are copyrighted by me previously, I own the rights to every song i have uploaded here except the covers i have done which i paid to the organizations that represent artists of music that i have used
I have like Larree, Stoneman I am sure Glenn from Lars Mars, Dick Aven (whom I have not show up here for ages) and many others whom will jump in here as well have played live at events gigs working our chops. that is where one really benefits from developing their abilities is play at actual events, performances honing ones skills
anyways, it is a sensitive subject and it is part of the growing trend
did you know 100,000 songs a day are uploaded to Spotify, using Suno, not counting the people who write record and produce their own songs who upload tunes
some tiny percentage actually get through and recognized and actually make a living at this. i do it for fun, yet i know a lot of about the music business and how it works
yeah, its like we are a drop of water in a huge ocean. that is the way it is.

Piggybacking off Bryon's post: Anyone can drop a prompt into Suno and come up with something, but we seasoned pros benefit the most from using it as a serious creative compositional tool. That said, I do like keeping my AI creations separate from my other music here on IMP.
Keep up the excellent work, Norm. Thanks for all you do here.

Norm, you're spot on about the importance of doing the hard work and putting oneself out there. (-:
Unfortunately, I’m not able do all of it.
I work together with musicians, as I don't play an instrument or sing. I've been collaborating in this way for two decades. Luckily though, as well as writing the lyrics, I'm able to create melodies, and often contribute these to our songs. My co-writers use them as is, or are free to make adjustments. We confer every step of the way in the song-making process.
Lately, however, I've turned to Suno to help me give life to a few of the two or three hundred lyrics that haven't yet found a musical home. I work hard on my lyrics and on the melodies, and am glad I can contribute at least two important elements to my AI-assisted songs. If I learn one day to get my own voice onto Suno, maybe I'll be able to add a third element to songs that don't require a particularly good voice or a wide vocal range. ;)
I fully understand why some songwriters are averse to using the tool. And believe me, I wish I had their musical skills. But for me, AI has been a blessing, especially since two or three of my best and favourite long-time collaborators are no longer active, due to ill health or a desire to follow their other creative pursuits. And my lyrics keep piling up.
I'd love to meet other musicians who'd be open to an occasional collaboration. But until that happens, I'll need to singlehandedly create homes for my 'babies. ;)
For the time being, this is my way of putting myself out there. (-: But I post my AI-assisted songs separately from my other Artist Page.
