The best concert I ever saw was CSNY Y2K, the thing about that one was Crosby was just coming back to be with the band again and hearing his voice across the rafters singing out Almost Cut My Hair brought tears to my eyes.

Also several of the CSNY shows I saw featured a 20+ minutes long version of Down By The River with Neil and Stills trading leads, one of those shows was at the Taj Mahal.

Have seen Neil and Crazy Horse many times and usually at least once every show Neil goes into this zone on lead guitar and transfixes everyone in the building.

Saw McCartney on his last big tour, he played like 3.5 hours including Live and Let Die with pyrotechnics you couldn't even believe.

Saw the great Jim Carroll twice at the Whisky a GoGo in LA, very memorable.

saw the Stylistics at the Zembo Mosque in Harrisburg PA.

Saw Springsteen in LA 3 nights out of a 4 night run. Had 50 bucks to get scalped on the 4th night and could not get a ticket.

oh, saw the B52s at the Hollywood Bowl and for the encore Cindy Wilson was singing Downtown and went out into the crowd and that was sheer mayhem.

and.. saw the Sex Pistols at George Mason U. and Johnny Rotten turned around and shot the moon at the crowd. heh

My first concert was an event called "Day on the Green" where they'd get a whole line-up of bands all afternoon, and they let everyone sit all over the baseball field at the Oakland Coliseum. The line-up was: Boston, Sammy Hagar, Eddie Money, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and maybe one other minor band I've forgotten. It was a windy day and the sound wasn't very good. But I loved the whole spectacle of it. It was an early foray into the world without my parents, so that was half the fun.

My first real date was to a Jethro Tull concert. We went with my older sister and her boyfriend. I was so shy back then. I don't even know if I kissed her goodnight. They put on a pretty entertaining show. Ian Anderson is a very hard working musician.

My favorite concert musically was Joe Jackson. He constantly re-interprets his own music, so you never know what you're going to hear. He was one of the most musically competent artists of the New Wave era. And he had an amazing band.

I saw Willie Nelson in a small theater-in-the-round. Sat up close. That was pretty memorable.

One surprisingly good show I saw was Billy Joel, that I only went to because my cousin had a spare ticket. He turned out to be an amazing entertainer, and it made me realize what a good songwriter he is, though I've never really been a fan.

Crowded House has always been one of my favorite bands, so their shows are magical to me. Squeeze, too.

The first concert I ever saw was the Lovin' Spoonful and Richie Havens at the Newport Folk Festival.

Another very early one was Eric Anderson at Town Hall (NYC)

One of the best concerts ever was CSN&Y at the Fillmore East. Wooden Ships
sticks in my mind and especially the guitar interplay between Stills and Young.
It was haunting and hypnotic!!

One that really stands out in my mind was The Who and The Grateful Dead on the same bill at the Oakland Coliseum. The Who did the whole Tommy rocks opera!
That was literally a "trippy" experience!

Seeing Jimi Hendrix at the Fillmore East was a life changing event.

The Doors at Hunter College was a mind blowing scene with a very extended guitar and organ solo in Light My Fire.

Bob Dylan and the audience became one entity in a powerful sing along of Like A Rolling Stone. The crowd seemed to levitate during the chorus at Madison Square Garden.

I almost got trampled to death at a Stevie Wonder Concert at Brooklyn College but I survived to see one of the most amazing concerts I've ever seen. I lost one of my shoes but it was worth it!

Sly and the Family Stone were fantastic at the Fillmore East.

The Rolling Stones at Madison Square Garden were great was usual.

Janus Joplin gave us all a piece of her heart and gave me a ring and a bottle of Southern Comfort with a rose stem inside it. No, I didn't sell them. I gave them to my girlfriend who eventually left me, taking the precious gifts with her. I was a roadie at the time which is how I had access to backstage. Janus always gave little gifts to the crew after a concert. (Filmore East)

A great night of music was had by me and my son at an Allman Brothers concert
at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. It had a tremendous influence on my songwriting and production and my son and I really bonded that night as that was his favorite band.

I've seen many concerts in my life but these were some of the most memorable.

My first (rock) concert was Canned Heat, John Lee Hooker, War, Sugarloaf, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band at the Hollywood Bowl. Wolfman Jack was the MC, and the tickets were 99¢!

I was at the No Nukes concert at the Garden and appeared several times in the movie. I saw the Carpenters. I saw Elton in Philadelphia when Philadelphia Freedom was the #1 song. I too almost got crushed to death at a Dead concert at Penn State. I saw the Pretenders in the front row and Chrissie Hynde was flirting with me. I saw Elvis Costello in the front row at the LA Forum and caught his spit on my face while he sang King Horse. ha ha
