so what's new with Neg Ten
not ones to rest on our laurels after Psychedelic Shack Up which we consider a hit, we have 2 songs on the broiler right now and both to my mind are crushers.
The first one is a song about a fairly famous political figure, a household name from around a half a century ago. The impetus of writing the song was imagining this person reacting if he had been alive today.
The more recent one is grounded in an early Beatles influence, like around 1964. Today I got to hear WeAponX' bass and guitar on it and like usual, it sounds far greater than how I expected it to in my head.
Can't wait to release both of these songs.

What is the origin story of how you guys got together?

Richard, believe it or not I think you're the first that ever asked this.
I met both these guys in my early time online with mp3.com. WeAponX I first knew as a troll chasing around the Father Time phenomemon, due to his peers and I not getting along. Then we got to know each other better when we were the 2 moderators for the legendary Mosh Pit. Dave I knew as Dayvel at the time, I met him in a yahoo chatroom related to mp3.com. Collaborated with both of them on separate songs, did several with Dave's drumming. Around 2015 or so I asked Dave if we should try to get a band going and he suggested I ask WeApon, I did and here we are.

Richard, I posted this on our ReverbNation, it’s just there for easy access, under “about the artist”…
the secret origin of Superm… er, I mean Negative Tendencies
You can also check our YouTube page. Scott put up a video commentary about it as well.

It was basically a perfect storm of musical kindred spirits. That rarely happens these days.
It reminds me of how the Beatles came together. They all happened to be in the right place at the right time and had the collaborative skills to create magic. NegTen creates magic too and it proves that bands who have that Beatle secret sauce of skill, friendship, great work ethic, and some good luck can go very far!
