Back to the future, IMPNATION and my radio promotion days
History of my involvement at INDIEMUSICPEOPLE and my Company Voodoohead Productions
My first station i created was VOODOO CENTRAL
Here is some more of what went on with my relationship here at IMP, my involvement with bands and my radio promotions company and actin as a band manager for some of the groups I promoted.
When the BlueVoodoo were invited to iacmusic way back many years ago, not sure of the day or year maybe 2002 2003 or so (the original name was iacmusic) My Brother Ted asked me to set up a page for them so I began the process of doing that and started a station a year or so after not sure though, its been around for some time, anyways , a bit later I got a phone call from a lady who were seeing how things were going and I said , hey it is going well and very happy to be a part of this community on behalf of the bluevoodoo.
Of course I was the bluevoodoo's promoter and manager back starting in 2002 or 2003 something like that and found that people started to email me if i could promote and manage them as well and get them on terrestrial radio , so yeah it was exciting times back then with the bands I represented, lots of them and duos and individual artists.
My company was Voodoohead Productions and it grew pretty fast with a large roster of artists. I also dealt with DMDS musicrypt when it started early 2002 , I first heard about them while listening to CKNW radio in Vancouver when a fellow was talking about how to use this new submission system to upload to the site and distribute Wave files and info about artists and I was one of the first people to start using the system.
The president of musicrypt called me up right after I sent him at email like within 5 mintues. it was such a boon to have rather then sending out cds to radio, I had a huge contact list of djs and Music Directors, and started to convince them to start using this system,
I also had a hand in helping radiosubmit building their system down in texas.. anyways this fellow Robert Bartosh started up radiosubmit.com (now defunct) and asked me a lot of questions how this system at music crypt worked and I gave him as much help as possible, many phone calls and emails, anyways , its been a great ride and I thank those who I helped, artists and others to build my legacy around here and elsewhere in the radio industry.. i will talk more later, anyways, keep rocking it out bros and sisters bryon
