I agree with Holworks on the "Law Verse Lawlessness". This song should be on your treasured Political Pipeline Scott. I don't care which ideology on politics is presented here it is turning into another FB. Keep it on other social media sites, but not here. Divide and more divide and no viable solution and no end. I am here for the wonderful creative music that is well represented here and not the politics. I don't care if you are anti Trump or pro Trump or any other political opinion it creates more bad than good. My opinion!

As a Democrat who hates both parties, I have always been a great fan of Protest Music as a genre encompassing all points of view. And not only the modern stuff, modern being from the 60s to today, I even have old I.W.W. songbooks (reprints, of course) from the early 20th century. I study this stuff.
And that is all I have to say about politics here on the main Pipeline!

Many songs in the America songbook have political overtones back to This Land Is Your Land. They are part of the whole that is music, but the clash and specific discussions/arguments go downstairs.

James, I do not treasure the political pipeline, I do 99.999% of my political posting elsewhere. We only made it to keep those avenues of discussion off the main pipeline. Politics are part of reality because every country has a government. Political songs have been around since before we were born though and we honor songs of every topic thru our love of music. Negative Tendencies has a song about Pinball. but the divide as you call it belongs downstairs, it's hard to stay away from these days.

I will stand by my comment Scott, but I will ghost the pipeline forums here on IMP. Just as I left FB over 5 years ago. I will continue to enjoy the music here and I will continue to have some fun with my station (GENRE SOUP). I will keep my opinions on world events to myself. Politics is, at best, only speculations of what the general public has no real information other than what the media complex wants to utilize their agenda to the public with. For me it is all about the talent and the music here. I have no problems with songs that lean towards protest, but some are just tasteless rage. I know that many artist here enjoy the political vibe here so I will let them carry on without my interference.
P.S. By the way I do have the complete Woody Guthrie box set with an included biography book of him in my music library!

For crying out loud, all Scott did was post about the Boss new song, I was the one who pointed out to him that it became number one on Apple Music in less than one day…
There’s nothing really political about it. It’s just a song, it’s a good song.
Songs can be whatever you want them to be, but I don’t see any reason why he should post this only in the political pipeline, good songs should be heard by everybody regardless of affiliation.
Other than that, we are living in political times. We are inundated by bad politics. Several people have been shot due to this, American citizens. American citizens are being carted away and shipped to that damn prison in Venezuela or wherever the hell it is, American citizens are being denied due process. People are being denied due process. And we thought children in cages was bad.
We just attacked a sovereign country in order to take over its oil, and the reason given was that it had to do with drugs. At the same time, several drug kingpins were given presidential pardons.
It’s impossible to live right now without having to face this crap, but Scott wasn’t really talking about that. He was posting a brand new song by the Boss. And he has written so many good songs.

As I’ve made clear before , I’ve always supported unlimited immigration into the United States as a means of ensuring equality for all.
So I wonder if Bruce would consider collaborating on a song with me on the very subject? I personally think we could hold another 3 billion or more and would Bruce be willing to open his doors to house the newcomers like l would do?
Anyone care to ponder how big Bruce’s heart really is?

Well Weap, we elected a lifelong Democrat who made his money from inside deals with the Democratic Party so why would anything surprise you when it comes to Trump?
And Bruce? He’s been on Psych meds for the last 30 years and hasn’t written a decent song the entire time. He had his time but it’s long past.

Dylan hooked me into protest music in the late 1960s. There was a big stink. Some peeps tried to shut him down.
How did that work out? Music is not wallpaper in our home. Some songs are better than others, my favorite protest song is still "Big Yellow Taxi" by Joni. "Pave Paradise and put up a Parking Lot" is a killer line .

Yes, Bruce Springsteen supported and implemented mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policies for his performances during the pandemic.

That tune sounded like soething I have heard before. an't quite think of what it is but there is something odly familiar in the verse melody. Whatever the case, the sentiment is well recieved here as I certainly understand how these goings ons can spark some very deep songwriting. I have been writing and producing a whole albums worth of sucj=h drivel and I call it that because i am sure that nt many place as much importance on the truth as I do when it comes to music. I believe it should be told like it is. No sugar coating or softening of the the grit od the truth as percieved by the songwriter. I know that sometimes my songwriting can be overtly offensive to some people. Most times I intend it that way. sometimes you have to offend in order to get people to notice the truth. My biggest disappointment in this whole thing is the silent majority that just oes about their day as if nothing is happening. Meanwhile, for a whole lot of other people, the world is falling apart. The silent majority seems to care about nothing but their own lives until they are jolted by the reality of other peoples truth. As a songwriter, I feel it is my obligation to bring the raw truth to those people whether they want to see it or not. Like so many others. Music is my tool for that purpose. It is important to me that people start to feel again. We all seem to be so numb from the riggers of life that our humanity and empathy towards others has been blunted or paused for this moment in time. There have been many moments in time when our abilities to empathize with others were stunted. One such time was during world war 2 when Hitler came into power. The silent majority nearly stayed silent too long before the plan of genocide was thwarted. Now we stand at the another moment when someone needs to stand up and say "enough already". I am drawing my line in the sand and I refuse to be silent any longer. I intend to lure them in with a funk beat and then hit them over the head with so much truth that they can't help but hear it and receive it. I know there are good people out there. they just need be waken. Hence the word "Woke". The only way to counteract lies is with the truth. It must be spread throughout the world in a variety of venues. The bible says "The truth will set them free". Me? well, I am hopeful. I applaud the boss on this one even if the melody belongs to someone else. He's the boss and he can do whatever he wants. It is admirable that he chose this cause to write and sing about. Much respect on that! Not many others have the guts! They are all running scared of retaliation from the king. Obviously, the boss ain't scared of the king. Much Respect on that also!.
