A Really Pretty Song
I wrote this one night up at Lake Tahoe, lying back out on the deck of the cabin, looking up at the infinite heavens. At home in Oakland, I can usually only see a couple stars at night because of the city glare combined with our usual evening fog or low clouds. That night, they were uncountable, and so bright! Looking up at the stars is one of my favorite things to do. It fills me with wonder.
I've been writing on a guitar with Nashville tuning, which is all high strings - so all in the same octave. It makes interesting things happen, like counter-melodies that you wouldn't hear on a regular guitar. If you're a fan of finger picking, you'll like this one.
