Station Management 101
Edit: Okay, it's 2026. And we need more station managers! Managing stations is one of the best ways to discover new indie music on the site. I have fun doing this. I have genre stations and theme stations. I am blown away by the great music I find. So join in on the fun!

As one of the three station managers nominated for a Bryon Tosoff Golden Kayak Award this year, I thank you for that.
I hope we see more station managers in the running next year. Managing stations is a whole lot of fun, and a great way to explore all the amazing indie music on this site. Indie Music People is a treasure trove of wonderful music, and the best way to enjoy it is by managing stations.
If anyone has any questions about managing stations, or if you are looking for tips and ideas, please post here and one of us will surely help you out.
It's not a competition. We're all in this together!

Stations are at the crux of this site. My co-founder Dave basically put stations on the indie map with his previous site Artist Launch and then we did it the best, only to see many poor imitations by places like Spotify.
Everybody should be on the lookout for friends who love music but have never participated in a site like this. It's a culture music lovers belong in, make their day.

I've been an active station manager for over 18 years here.
I've added with commentary over 1,000 musicians/artists songs here on IAC/imp, in the long, distinguished history of the site.
Recently, I'm pleased to welcome back Neil W. Young to the site, a grand presence and musical maestro...
I've added with commentary many, many songs by Scott, Negative Tendencies, Bryon, the piano man, Larree, Paul Groover, Eaglehead, Francesca, Donna, Lars Mars, and so many fantastic musicians....
Starting a station is fun, and a great way to hear new music..."ancient heavenly connection..."

My two main stations, Legendary Music and Legendary Music II, featured 'storytelling' commentary. Both have been inactive for several years due to personal circumstances.
