That whole album - Blow By Blow - is arguably one of the greatest instrumental guitar albums ever recorded.

Jeff Beck was one of my all-time favorites growing up, along with Robin Trower, Al DiMeola, Steve Morse (Dregs), Jan Hammer, Chick Corea, etc.
A lot of the greats seem to go way before their time is due. I truly believe they're all rockin' their asses off for the Gods right now.

I never noticed how his playing is a lot like singing, almost the way that Ella Fitzgerald plays with melody when she scats -- it's like an exploration of the key.
