the question would be, if you're an indie and you don't have any actual "hits" to speak of, is it ok to do a Greatest Hits record?

I suppose that if one of your tracks was downloaded five times and the others just once each, by your granny, then that one is your greatest hit.

Superlatives have been overused a bit recently.

Perhaps like Todd said, best of would be more appropriate, my brothers group the blue voodoo are hitting their 20 years together and will be releasing a compilation album, a 4 pack of the albums they have done since 2000 in the upcoming 2020 year and perhaps a slew of new songs too!

As for me, well doing lots of singles and just finished my Solar Winds album and did a summer tune yesterday called Zappafied Summa, although still want to develop it a bit more and improve it and thinking of adding vocals, very spacey groove with heavy cool riffage going on,was a fun afternoon of messing with my creative side

But its summer, and music is not on the A list of importance right now, landscaping ,gardening updating the home still and going to do some nice summer camping trips.

If you are still thinking of pursuing this “greatest hits” idea consider calling it “Greatest Hits Volume 2”. That way peeps will be all like wow, must be a LOT of hits, man, I had better get up to speed here, I feel like I might be missing out, what a dumass I must be, sheesh.
