The DIRTY WORKS a high energy Southern Punk Rock n Roll band based out of Knoxville, TN are proving themselves to be one of the hardest working and hardest rocking bands of the South. Their music, a very unique mixture of Old school Punk, 80’s metal and southern Rock along with other unexpected influences is hard, loud and fast. Because of the diversity of their influences the band hard pressed for a genre’ settled on calling their music Southern Punk Rock n Roll.
Shortly after forming in the summer of 2004 while playing an especially frenzied, chaotic and brutal rocking show in Morristown TN the Dirty Works were discovered by Worldstorm (arts Lab) Productions and offered an opportunity to be subject of a major documentary.
Worldstorm President Francis Percarpio was quoted in a regional news paper as saying he was instantly drawn to the intensity and raw energy of the band. Along with partner company Visual Luxury, Worldstorm started following the band around gathering footage immediately and still are to this day. Financing the project by working with corporate bands like Usher, P.Didy, Arrested Development and then a whole slew of T.V. commercials
they have been able to afford several hundred hours of footage on the best of film from The DIRTY WORKS shows, fans, fellow bands and even a trip to the studio.
In spring of 2006 the Dirty Works released their debut CD, totally independently. Titled Biscuits and Liquor the CD has gotten rave reviews both locally and regionally. It is selling better than anyone had expected.
Christopher Scum, the bands front man credits the bands success both onstage and with Biscuits and Liquor to their desire to remain actively prolific.
Whether onstage or in Scum’s garage the band plays together a minimum of five times a week. “This tends to keep things fresh as we’re always writing.
We never play the same show twice.” Scum says
With a raw, chaotic, unplanned show to offer every night, Biscuits and Liquor tucked proudly under their belt, and an upcoming documentary
sure to rattle the face of Punk Rock music The Dirty Works travel the South in The Biscuit, an aptly named 1987 tan Ford Econoline. It has dual exhaust
And a big old four barrel carburetor so even their ride is loud and obnoxious.
If you hear or hear of them coming your way make sure not to miss them. The DIRTY WORKS put on a show to remember.
