The Dancehall Connect - Styafiya
Styafiya is a Dancehall artist who connects fans with his unique musical delivery and artistic style. Born in Jamaica nand raised in Queen's, New York, Styafiya began performing in High School, regularly entertaining his class-mates during breaks, and after school. Always with his notebooks, Stya regularly wrote song lyrics, and was also influenced by artists Dennis Brown, Bob Marley and Sizzla Kolangi.
Performing lyrics that reflect the energy of Dancehall masses around the world, Styafiya is not afraid to express himself through lyrics. On his 2009 tune ""Not So Long,"" Styafiya reflects on the way he treated his girl, and apologies for the rough treatment he gave her. On the tune ""Take It Away,"" Styafiya raises the tempo by DJ'ing lyrics about how good the girls look. Both tunes can be found on his recently released album entitled '365 X 30' available on Apple i-Tunes and Amazon.com.
Styafiya has continues to develop his talent as an artist. He's opened for Beenie Man and Round Head, and has performed in several clubs in New York. He also performed for Drahma Magazine's recent event, and his music is currently featured on the music networking site Jango.com.
