Egor and Denis met each other in 2001. At that time the future musicians studied at one of Novosibirsk universities but they always wanted to write music and it was above everything.
As the guys say they ""were played"" not at once, at first they were just masterring playing the instruments while getting musical education and forming musical tastes.
The neighbours were upset with the fact that the first tracks were recorded right at home. Egor used to walk along the railways and record industrial sounds of trains going by, so the musicians’ early experiments were of an ambient, i.e. noisy kind.
Eventually the guys have come to a traditional sounding, the main reason of it wasa Denis's extraordinary strong voice. He studied singing covers of Depeche Mode and Oasis.
The powerful vocal line together with the guitar and electronic samples became some kind of a stylistic skeleton of a beginning band.
The first real texts were written by a beginning poetess Ekaterina living in St-Petersburg, it was a 2006 when PROJECT AEROPLANE (at first named – AEROPLANE) appeared in the style it is known now.
Debut demos were written without a live bass because the plan of the musicians was that fact should have emphasised the electronic component of the band, but due to the gradual reorientation of band to ""live"" performances, musicians preferred classical structure: a guitar, a bass, drums, a keyboard.
At present their tour geography is quite wide: it speads from Moscow to Altai and their songs have been already playing at one of the British radio station.
The guitarist has several times played with David Brown (Brazzaville) and he made a remix for Brazzaville’s song The Clouds in Camarillo.
In July the project was the participant of the festival Stereoleto 2008 in Ekaterinburg where the musicians played on the same stage as Red Snapper.
Some say that the project is new romantism of the 21st century, some say that it is a melodic inditronics.
The guys themselves call their style British Intelligent Pop Music, they try to pay much attention to the sound and the details in arranging the music.
