Over the course of the last 10 years Ivan Daigle has grown from local country music’s scenes favorite young rising star to an exiting concert performer, he has shared the stage with some of the finest East Coast Musicians around - ECMA Winners the Divorcees, ECMA Nominee Kevin Chase, Chris Cummings, Scott and Gerald Delhunty, Melanie Morgan and most recently "The Wilkinson's" Either playing solo or with the back up band "In the Pocket", Ivan's concerts are always full of surprises, from a tender ballad to a hard driving country song, Ivan's shows are unpredictable. He spans country generations with ease and keeps fans entertained all night long. His performances are genuine and he has the ability to tailor his shows to the audiences that he performs for.

Whether its a small crowd of 3 or a sold out auditorium, Ivan hits the mark. Songwriting since the age of 10, Ivan has taken his emotions, put them into words and set those words to music and taken us to places that some of us have never been before, wish we were at now or almost wish we could forget. Even though Ivan Daigle hasn't got a Grammy on his mantle (yet) he has won first place in several singing competitions. Most recently in Summerside PEI the Atlantic Starr where Ivan beat out 14 other competitors. For Ivan, entertaining his fans is the most important part about performing, whether he makes you cry, laugh or a little shocked he promises a good time. Canadian country music fans may remember Ivan from his first recording in the early 90's, "Makin' Love doesn't Make it Love", produced by Randall Prescott 2-time Canadian Country Music Producer of the Year and member of Canadian Country Music Royalty the Family Brown. Currently residing on Prince Edward Island with his wife, two daughters and his dog Fred.

Eastlink Magazine Interview to be aired the week of January 28th, 2008.

I did an interview with Eastlink Magazine today at the "Old Dublin Pub" in Charlottetown. They usually only take about 10 or 15 minutes to complete and, true-to-form, this one was the same.
First of all, I pretty much got lost on the way there, but after some directions from a man whose English was very broken, I found my way there...so, thank you sir, whoever you are.
I met with Bettly Lou Jordan (Producer and Interviewer) and her Camera Person, Dave. They were both very nice and were just getting ready to begin when I first got there so no time was wasted. They had me perform "Top of my Glass" and we talked about song writing, my influences etc....but, I was so nervous that I only realized after the interview that I did not mention the website that I have put so much work into and most importantly, the "Blind Fold Dinner" where I am opening for both Melanie Morgan www.melaniemorgan.ca and the Wilkinson's www.wilkinsonsonline.net I mean what was I thinking to not mention that????? Anyway its neither here nor there, I told them about it as we were leaving. Ms. Jordan said that she would do an intro or out-ro and talk about it. I guess I'm not used to doing enough interviews...Here's hoping that will change. I am hoping to get a copy that I can post on this site. Stay Tuned...

The Interview aired tonight and they did a great job editing it and making me look like I actually had some idea of what I was talking about - Now that's Magical (LOL). Overall I thought it was great. Thanks To Betty Lou and Dave.

Broadcast premiere of "Top of My Glass" on XL96

5pm Friday January 11th 2008 the Broadcast premiere of my song "Top of my Glass" occurred. I wish I could have heard it but I was in a meeting with my Manager...probably not a good idea to tell him that I have to blow off his meeting to hear myself on the radio. I received many emails, phone calls and many people told me that they enjoyed it - that felt good - even my old friend "Garnet D." whom I have known since the late 80's told me that it was about time that I did something - I very much appreciated that. The "release" of the single could not have come at a more opportune time for me personally since I am opening for Melanie Morgan and the Wilkinson's, the radio station is going to be playing the song as part of the promotion so it works out great for me personally. My wife, the angel that she is, recorded it for me and it was great to hear it over the airwaves, quite an experience to say the least.

CBC Interview with Mike Rainnie
The interview with Mike Rainnie on CBC radio 96.1 went very well. He is smooth, in control and very open to many things. He just let's you talk, then draws you back in if you get off course or long winded. I can be long-winded and go off on tangents sometimes. We did the interview at 2pm and it aired at 530. He chose the best parts of my babbling on and on, then put it all together and presto "interview". He was very kind in his words about me and they played my song at the end of the interview. I was so impressed that I am trying to get a copy of it to put on this site. With a little luck the link will be on here in the next few days or weeks or whatever I have time to do.

February 15th 2008
Been a little busy in the last few weeks. First of all I did an interview with the "Journal Pioneer" with Nancy MacPhee, she does wonderful work. I thought that she was very flattering in her interview. They even provided a link for their online subscribers and also referred to it in print. Thanks Nancy for being so nice to me, you are both professional and have a way of putting people at ease. Shilo and I are leaving for Nashville on March 20th - I have a friend who lives there and we are going to visit him plus Shilo has a few contacts that he wants to touch base with. I am excited about it - first time out of the country except for "Bangor" in 1996. Playing at the Big Dog February 23rd but I have band practice the night before at Elvis' place, then on Saturday I have a studio session in Moncton with Claude, then XL96 is doing a full length show of "East Coast Country" about me so I have to be there for most of the afternoon and evening with Shilo. I am not complaining but its like a working weekend no time for nothing good thing I love it or this upcoming weekend would probably make me QUIT! I have a new booking in Riverview NB - first time at O'Brien's ever for Saint Patrick's Day, then the same night at the Big Dog so its gonna be a vocal work out...oh well you do what you gotta do...right? Oh and I can't believe that I almost forgot - in speaking with the Local Radio station (The Island's Country 95.1FM CFCY) they are considering putting "Top of my Glass" into rotation. Rebecca Black, the afternoon on air personality, told me that they listened to it and were both very impressed with both the song but they were amazed by the production...her exact words were:" It stands up next to anything that we play here on the air". I'll be sure to let Claude know - I think that he'll be happy with that.

Nashville Star
In March of 2008 I took my first plane ride from Bangor Maine to Atlanta to Nashville. Once we got in the air I was convinced (and still am) that there is no other way to travel. Day 1 We Land - we checked out some bars for some music, some were good and some were not so good but that’s gonna happen anywhere you go. Day 2 – The Line Up – first of all we were up and ready to go at 545am to catch a 605am bus (which we missed cause it was running 4 minutes early). Had to take a cab, which cost 25$ from one side of town to the other, we got there, no breakfast and eager to be some of the early people…NO WAY – we were in a line up of over 6800 people but we were in the middle somewhere, I can only guess about 3000. We met some great people, Zack (the young guy with the Ken doll face), Jen (the mother of two who had her mom with her), Jen’s mom (who’s name I never got) and Scott. We were seated in the same spot from about 715 until almost 2pm. We sang some original songs, we did some covers, it was really a great day. The sun was hot and it was about 25 degrees, Shilo and I got sunburns beyond belief. After almost 12 hours in line we finally got in the building and I had a chance to auditions for the first round of judges. Got passed them and made my way to the the “2nd room”. Shilo and I left the building with the next day ticket in hand and headed to the first restaurant that we could find, That was the best liver and onions that I have ever had. We got back to the hotel at about 9pm and Shilo and I were out cold in less than an hour. Day 3 – the Callbacks – up at about 730am, breakfast and just laid around the hotel almost all day…we were told to be there at 6pm…we got there at 520pm and waited. Someone came over and said that the judging was running a little late…6 hours late to be exact. We met some fantastic people at the 2nd day call backs (see the attached photos in the gallery and the captions for the details). A sister duet act (Jackie and Breya) from Ontario, Canada called “Skinner”, a couple of guys (Eric and Glen) called “Mr. Calvin”, Dustin Miller (a good old boy from Cleveland, TN) and Devon Belle. Check them all out on MySpace.com they are all great. After the auditions we all headed out the “Nashville Palace” where Randy Travis used to be a dishwasher, it was a great time – almost everyone performed. Day 3 – got up, checked out and we were in the air in before 2pm. We were in the Kentucky airport for a 4 hour layover – we were in Bangor by 9pm and out cold by 11pm. That was the jist of the trip – check out the website for some new pics. Thanks for all the support back home.

The Studio – April 11th, 2008
Oh my Goodness!!! It was great listening to these songs finally completed -“Brand New Me” and “Love in the Heart” are completed – I was supposed to make my way to “Claude’s” studio (Friday, April 11th) but his recording unit is on the fritz so we have to re-schedule. Once I have the vocals done on the tracks I will add a sample to the website so everyone can have a pre-listen to it. I really like it, it turned out the way I imagined it would and I hope that you all like it as much as I do. It should be done in the next week or so…stay tuned….

Fox & Hound Review – April 4th 2008
Wow what a great show – The crowd from Salisbury was at the Fox and Hound Saturday April 4th, 2008. It was a barn burner – the music was hot and the crowd was even hotter – they made requests all night long and they were pounding the tables for me not to stop – I did the required 10 minute encore but I realized that I have to add at least 3 or 4 more Johnny Cash songs to my set cause they wanted more Cash and I didn’t have it – I did, however, do “Folsom Prison Blues” 4 times that night. Needless to say I am quite sure that I will be playing there again. I need to speak to the owner “Danny Kenny” and we will work something out. But I can’t say enough about the “Ivan Daigle Honky-Tonk Fan Club” they made shirts with my name on it, they kept the yelling and drinking and hooting up all night so thanks to some good friends and some brand new ones – thanks for all the yelling and screaming. My Webmaster, Justin, is going to add a monthly newsletter to the website as well a a listing for the fan club that you can sign up for . It will include sneak peaks at new songs, contests for free tickets, new merchandise that we are designing as we speak and all kinds of fun stuff so just sign up and we will take it from there.
