Probably best known for his years behind the drums of the powerfully imaginative and innovative Swept To See, Peter Vartan has been a musician and songwriter for nearly 20 years. Since his departure from Swept To See, he has been busy playing guitars on and off stage for NYC's own Hesta Prynn. Working with her and producer Chuck Brody has forged some interesting collaborations and his guitars can be heard on Hesta’s album “Can We Go Wrong?” as well as studio tracks that feature Clown from Slipknot, Tim Harrington of Les Savy Fav, and Dylan Rau from Bear Hands. He has perfomed live with Hesta Prynn in NYC and at the 2009 CMJ Festival and 2010 SXSW Festival as well. Most recently, he hooked up with the Sonata Contata group and played the 2010 CMJ with the indomitable Ellie Johndro in her new project Biker Daughter. His first official release "Negative Attidude!!!" was released on iTunes February 8th 2011 under the name Vartan.
