Steve Ison
I Know A Good Thing
My favorite from the Ison catalog - a beautiful openness to the guitar and bass sound, a bit of the characteristically casual sounding approach that makes Steve's work seem effortless, despite the hard work he does in crafting the songs and the sounds. A classic tune for the ages, as far as I'm concerned, and it was a joy to cover it as well. SPECIAL MOMENTS FOR ME: There's a lyric which is either "you gave me a light to follow" or "a lie to follow" and I enjoy not being sure which it is (lol)...that intro guitar, and when the bass comes in...geez, love those Ison vocals... added to station 9/22/2008 2:33:40 PM

Man Of Faith
My favorite April tune right here...it occurs to me that a common theme of the artists on this station is that they are really unabashedly themselves, putting soul over sheen...that's what I call THE INDIE SPIRIT...I'm so pleased to be reminded of why I fell in love with this damn place in the first place... added to station 9/22/2008 2:58:02 PM

Contact
The artist describes this song simply as "mystery trip"...as far as I'm concerned Steve's whole page is a mystery trip, and I'm glad to be along for the ride... added to station 9/22/2008 2:59:18 PM

Tellin' Stories (collabro w Steve Ison)
Damn. I'll confess to harboring more than a little jealousy when confronting the skill with which Messrs. April and Ison collaborate...the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful results takes the sting out though...kudos, Gents, keep it rockin'... added to station 9/22/2008 3:03:27 PM

Wasted Time
My favorite TODD LEITER-WEINTRAUB song, far and away, no questions asked...this one absolutely ROCKS and strikes right at the defiant youth that dwells within this 45-yr old frame... added to station 9/22/2008 3:52:40 PM

Float me Away!
THE CODE is definitely onto something...everytime they post a tune I'm pleasantly surprised it seems to sound better and rock harder than the previous ones, which already sound great and rock hard... added to station 9/23/2008 4:47:47 PM
