Singing aloud in thought...

Maria Daines/Paul Killington

fiogf49gjkf0d
A hollow shell with sharpened teeth, is that what I've become
Less a woman less to keep, still no less a rat race run,
Less for you to pull n' reap, go ahead son.
A washin' peg a pocket crime, it's hard to work it out,
Doin' mother, doin' life, doin' sex n' doin' wife,
Beatin' trouble with a swipe, prayers on the knife.

CHORUS
N' don't yah see me oh, see what I really was,
What I am now, is all because -
I'm the rose in your smile, I'm the devil in this house,
I'm your mother child, don't wear it out.

A little love a little hurt, is all I'm really for,
More a servant, more a bitch, more a woman in a shirt,
All for you the all time jerk, just an old girl.
A uniform a quiet word, it's lonely at the top,
Makin' wishes makin' shit, makin' buttons make 'em fit,
Takin' nothin' takin' stick, when it won't work.

CHORUS

N' don't yah see me oh, see what I really was,
What I am now, is all because,
I'm the rose in your smile, I'm the devil in this house,
I'm your mother child, don't wear me out.

SOLO

I can handle the woe, I can bang out the rough,
I know the road, well I walked it enough,
I'm the joy in your stride, I'm the guilt in your doubt,
I'm your mother child, don't wear me out.
N' don't yah see me oh, see what I really was,
What I am now, is all because...
I'm the rose in your smile, I'm the devil in this house,
I'm your mother child, I'm your mother, now, don't wear me out.
I can handle the woe, I can bang out the tough,
I know the road, I know it, cos I walked it enough,
I'm the joy in your stride, I'm the guilt in your doubt,
But I'm your mother child, always will be, don't wear me out...

My favs (Alexander Lindqvist)
Those are some amazingly soulful vocals!!

The Lonely Song
I'm adding this track because I've found it's a song that's seldom played and it's one of my most personal lyrically, I couldn't listen to it after we recorded it because it touched some nerves, now I find that it's a musical piece of family history and on reflection I'm glad it was brought to life.

Soul Retrieval
Very touching and beautiful song............passionate and soulfelt vocals.......hats off to Maria!
