You wrap round my life like the CSX railway line,
rings round this waterbound town,
bringing tinsel and pretzels and bottles of wine, from the inland empire,
and the gift of the 3AM horn,
is the glimpse of your sweet sleeping face in the morn,

The lights on the harbour at night are a treat for the eyes,
each way you look a surprise,
catch the boat-taxi back to the Baltimore side,
holding hands on the ride
and the smell of molasses and gas, recedes with each tavern and pub that we pass and
i’ll be your antenna if you’ll be my queen and i’ll climb the mountain sight-unseen.
…back on the brick boulevard where we find ourselves laughing, toujours the boat-taxi,
