A song about life, forgiveness, atonement and Peace.

Words and Music - Robert Jansen - SOCAN

Funny I can’t see,
What you mean
It should be easy as:
One, two, three
So - be for I tell you
Can I count on you
To believe me,
And receive me,

I. was. wrong,
And I knew it all along,
My pride will agree with me

So now I kneel,
Before you on bended knee,
Can I offer you this peace,
Can I offer you my hope,
From a thread that never broke,

All or nothing
I'll tell ya something
You can have the first verse -
But I get the last word
In this song – I must be strong
So please believe me
And receive me,

I. belong.
And you knew it all along,
Collide with me
Until The mountains fall
And the gods will crawl

Chorus x 2 x

INDIE SPIRIT
It all started in grade 5 when "The Jansen 5" exploded into and out of the music scene - all in one day! It was an air-band with a shot at glory in the annual talent contest. They lost - the band broke up. Grade 6 was different. Featuring a full rock band called "Venus" with 3 guitars, drums, bass, and Rob singing lead vocals - it was a real band this time and that set the stage for the many years to come of writing, recording and playing live music. Many other bands followed: "Midweek Krisis" in 1984, "Moving Target" in 1988. "Target" would play for several years at local venues and attended the 1990 Juno Awards. 2001 saw the release of an independent debut CD which garnered radio airplay with the anthem "Rock Star" and "I Miss My Friend". Many tracks on this CD were welcomed as Robert became one of the top downloaded Canadian artists on mp3.com. 2005 was the return to the live music scene with cover band "One Atom12" playing energetic rock shows at local venues and corporate concerts. 2008-2010 Back to writing and recording for the latest release "Long Story Short" which has already been well received with the lead track: "I Found You". Robert's music is known to be quite varied in styles and influences with the likes of the Beatles, Def Leppard, Blink 182, Cheap Trick and even ABBA can be heard throughout the songs.
