This is a slow, bluesy song.

Produced by Mike Dooley and JC Burt. Recorded at JCB Studios, Manor, Texas.

This song is about realizing it's time to stop trying to make a crazy relationship work.
LOOKING FOR THE LIGHT

Living in darkness with no end in sight
Thinking I’m crazy, afraid that I’m right
Without a question it was hard to see
We were trapped by old memories and couldn’t break free

CHORUS
Now, I can’t ask for forgiveness it’s already too late
Cause it won’t change her mind it won’t stop the heartache
Cause it’s already over
It’s time for me to open my eyes
To take a step out of the dark and start looking for the light

Suffering in silence, wandering blind
Slowly but surely I was losing my mind
But it’s not so easy to just walk away
Cause I really loved her and wanted to stay

CHORUS

SOLO

Love should be easy it seemed to me
I had great expectations of what we could be
But nothing was easy, the road got too tough
And as hard as I tried it was never enough

CHORUS

To take a step out of the dark and start looking for the light

Here's another great Mike Dooley song that no-one wanted and we think that's an oversight by station managers who enjoy well written, well produced, well played and performed Country/Pop. Such a complete song with orchestral extras, a good solo and that pro sound we all wish we had. Mike is on a few stations with earlier songs but it seems the songs from his album are in the IMP wilderness.
