Try not to feel that bad

Vartan - Bass, Guitars, Keyboards, Vocals
Justin Guip - Drums, Tracking Engineer
Gabriel Schwartz - Mixing Engineer
Caleb Shreve - Editing

She said she’d cheated on every man that she’d ever had
And that is no lie so I try not to feel that bad
It’s what she said to me when she went away
She said we were never friends and could never be that way
And I said

Well you ain’t no friend of mine anyway
You ain’t no friend of mine
You ain’t no friend of mine
You ain’t no friend of mine

She doesn't know what she’s missin’ from me today
She doesn't know what she wants anyway
She doesn't know what she needs
She doesn't know what’s in her head
She doesn't know what she knows
And I said

You ain’t no friend of mine anyway
You ain’t no friend of mine
You ain’t no friend of mine
You ain’t no friend

She has a beautiful name
It’s such a terrible game
She has a beautiful face I can’t erase
Yeah
She is a beautiful shame
And I said

You ain’t no friend of mine

serendipity redux II
Swimming through songs I first listened to all those years ago, a real and unexpected side pleasure has been to hear how some artists have developed. A second, greater pleasure: reacquainting myself with artists who have gone on to do 'greater' things, but have stuck with IAC. Anyway, enough of that... I don't know if it's the lyrics (hypnotic in their repetition) or the percussion (weirdly, not ditto) that nails you to the seat until the last note breathes away, or is it that tremelo? Who cares? And why have I started talking? in Californian? or Australian? Anyhow (woah - very nearly said 'anywho' just then): a thing of rare beauty
