After suffering from some "church hurt" the originator of this song, the title cut of her album, wrote a song to encourage those who have suffered at the hands of an authority, in a relationship or anything else. The primary lyric author was a victim of domestic violence in her college years and early adulthood. The trauma of it all has taken years to admit it even happened and years to recover from it. But in the end, she found there is hope.
