This song reveals where Santa goes after Christmas and before he heads back to the North Pole.

Words & Music by Helmut Licht (C)

JOLLY OLD MAN

Christmastime was over, Winter had us in his grip
So I thought it’s time to get away, on a little island trip
I flew down to St. Marteen on a special weekend fare
And when I walked along the beach….
Guess whom I saw there?

Jolly old man whom I seemed to know
Big round tummy, hair white as snow
A twinkle in his eye with a special glow
And whenever he’d laugh he’d go: Ho, Ho, Ho

The next morning I had breakfast, I was hungry as can be
Jolly old man was also there. at the table next to me.

The waiter took his order, my friend this is no line
The old man said, winking his eye: “Milk and cookies will be fine.”

Jolly old man whom I seemed to know
Big round tummy, hair white as snow
A twinkle in his eye with a special glow
And whenever he’d laugh he’d go: Ho, Ho, Ho

The next night I want dancing, there was music everywhere
Jolly old man was on the floor, dancing like Fred Astaire.

And when the song was over, he turns to the band and yells:
Hey man, you all sound good tonight! Would you please play Jingle Bells!

Jolly old man whom I seemed to know
Big round tummy, hair white as snow
A twinkle in his eye with a special glow
And whenever he’d laugh he’d go: Ho, Ho, Ho

I thought ‘Is this the man wh o I think he is? Or is he just a spoof?’
I was almost certain I knew who he was, but I needed one more proof.

When I saw him at the airport, I knew he was no tease –
I heard him tell the lady: ‘A one way ticket to the North Pole, please.’
Jolly old man whom I seemed to know
Big round tummy, hair white as snow
A twinkle in his eye with a special glow
And whenever he’d laugh he’d go: Ho, Ho, Ho
