This song is about hunting a serial killer in the 1800s.
No you're not supposed to take that home with you. Just listen.
It's actually just a big existential metaphor. Or is it even a song?

All instruments except drums played be Darby Cicci
Drums played by Justin Stivers of The Pet Ghost Project

Crime is taking it’s toll on my mind I try to hold my breath there’s a body in the cellar – silence strangled the town down where the fingerprints stain every doubt I shouldn’t be near another found face down a limitless blur of disorder – now the clock’s ticking faster time elapsed apprehend him – cross the street look for peace in the fountain his intentions are clear haunting lots with serene green houses and the presence of fear – seems we found his track sidewinder thinks he’s escaped every trap I took all my men yeah we found his house so we wait for our hellhound to come out – the clock tower tolls backwards now secret and silent and shrouded in a distant church – behind the trees with leaves around us we’ll be safe sleeping here never mind what you hear he’s not after us so you shouldn’t be scared – wait and wait and wait and pray wait and wait and pray – he finally appears but wait for my count this killer is only a kid the cavalry’s here you’re trapped surrounded you won’t harm us again. x
