LEGENDARY MUSIC Tonight I felt strangely alone and lonely - no particular reason that I can think of - there never is it seems. Still that never seems to make any difference. Perhaps it was feeling confined to the cabin, thanks to another winter storm that rolled in early today leaving the landscape blanketed with a foot of snow topped with a crusty layer of freezing rain that caused me to feel somewhat cut off and removed from the outside world save and except for the freedom provided me by my various electronic gadgets. The evergreen branches now look like big outstretched hands and fingers wearing thick layers of frosted icing sugar coated mittens. It makes for a pretty picture glistening in the moonlight. And in its own way it is a comforting sight to the heart and soul - especially mine in my soul-searching frame of mind tonight. Thank heavens for the toasty log fire, and for old Rascal by my side, faithful as always regardless of the mood he finds me in. And thank heavens too for the music I chose to listen to tonight - Deanna's "Always Just Beyond". What an absolutely beautiful song, cradled in such an engaging gentle acoustic melody and delicately caressed with Deanna's heartfelt soft and serenely angelic voice. I admire the courage and openness of your lyrics Deanna - their grace, charm and radiance showing through your pain, asking questions, searching for light and answers. I have been in that place. I may even be there now - it's hard to tell sometimes what mirrors we look into as to what we see or feel. Sometimes it seems clear, sometimes it's always just beyond ... such beautifully poignant lyrics. You are where you need to be Deanna ... we all are. And the beauty of life is recognizing, knowing and accepting the reality of it all. Thank you so very much for your special company tonight and for your wonderfully entrancing music and song floating through all the spaces in the old cabin here.
