LEGENDARY MUSIC
While traveling through Newfoundland from St. John's to L' Anse aux Meadows and into Labrador during the past few weeks, I received an email from CEO Scott giving me a heads up about Jason who hails from Newfoundland having recently joined IMP and uploading a few tunes. Returning home today via AC from Deer Lake to Toronto and then to Paris, I made a quick visit to Jason's page. Having had the pleasure of enjoying Newfoundland music firsthand, I was attracted to a song penned by Jason and his father, "We Thank You For Our Newfoundland." The lyrics capture the heart and soul and the gentle pride and steadfastness of Newfoundlanders, and Jason's vocals and the accompanying music were the epitome and essence of all that I experienced during my recent travels among these proud fellow Canadians. I had been to St. John's thirty years ago, but this was my first time to tour the island. It won't be my last - the majestic beauty of the land, its people, their traditional music and the sound of the sea will see to that. Jason brings it home to the heart with this great song.
