‘A good time was had by all’

“Come and git it!” The U.S.A. dinner bell has been ringing for too many years. Yes, in the good old days we used to accept multinational people but they were counted and screened at Ellis Island and they didn’t send their money back to their native land across ‘the pond’. Canadians, to my knowledge, have not been sneaking across the border into the US for jobs, but, nonetheless, we have a huge border presence on our Northern most flank. What’s wrong with border presence? When you buy a house you have a survey that sets a precedent as to what is yours and what is your neighbor’s. Do you just leave your garage door unlocked and say, “Gosh, I sure hope I get home before my neighbor takes the spot in my garage”?

Do you know anyone who would throw a fantastic, expensive party in their home and not object to ‘word of mouth’ un-invitees just showing up and drinking, eating and possibly destroying, by essence of sheer numbers, this ‘host’ home.

When I lived in Southern California I enjoyed the cuisine and flavour of those areas that supported businesses owned by Mexican Americans and many other ‘multicultural’ Americans. The key word here is ‘Americans’. Our flag is the one displayed on the flag pole; their ‘symbolic’ flag should be displayed as an ornament in a fruity beverage.

When I throw a party I expect an R.S.V.P. Otherwise, how will I ever prepare for adequate quantities of supplies, goods and services that will ensure a ‘good time was had by all’ ?
