Hey, Steve,
I just finished streaming your whole page, and what a musical journey it was. It comes through that you are passionate and deep, and have a profound understanding of how to craft a song. I've always enjoyed your music, and it was a treat to hear so much of it all at once. You are an inspiration.

Cheers,

Tom O'Brien

Dear Steve,

I just found a topic with my name that you wrote and 2008. I must have been traveling at the time and did not see it.

I am so sorry that I did not comment on it and thanked you for your kind words.

Thank you from my heart to you and all those who commented.

Strangely enough, what you wrote is more important to me know that I am a little older and wondering it is worthwhile writing songs if nobody listens. I guess that as long as there are people like you it is worth it.

By the way, my friend who is the subject of the song 'Presumption of guilt' has been released and fully exonerated on appeal.

Once again thank you.

Vincenzo

Steve,

I will be off the pipeline, its just a little too immature at the moment. I will still post songs and have a presence here, but just need to dial things back. I have a professional reputation outside of music and the Pipeline of late has gotten rediculous. Far too many enable the situation by not checking a few people. For the record, I don't hate Anons...Just the ones that do it for the cowardly purpose of being a smart ass.

Take care, I will be watching for new songs.

Hi Steve, actually I got a good hoot out the "previously wonderful" comment, ha ha - I knew you meant it as something good and like you I much prefer things said straight. I go thru bits where I really can't stand the sound of my voice and decide to "go jazz" as it were....your comments (not to mention many station adds) give me the courage to forge on as a chirper. No prob at all and I'm flattered you were trying to play it for your girlfriend. The vocal version has been reinstated to its former glory - cheers Steve!

Dear Sir:
Saw you stopped by Sam Phillips' page - she's extremely creative, her live show reminded me of Woody Taylor in a kind of burlesque / showy way - have some pics from a show I attended last September, including a strange percussive rig they fashioned out of a chair and a faux animal skin...posted in my photos, thought I'd invite you to have a look if interested...she's truly Fab. Jay Bellerose was drumming for her on that tour and he is truly amazing - always with creative drum rigs (actually SHE played the chair thing, lol).
Rock!

Hey there Steve, how's it going man? Wasn't able to spend much time 'round IAC this past autumn (mam in law had/has some health issues unfortunately) but trying to make my evil presence felt once more :-) Did I upload :-O the instru version of EMCB???? Hope life's treating you well my friend!

"Former Lives" is a Classic Steve!!!! . Man you are the freaking top dog when it come to writing cool songs!.anywhere, and I have listened to boatloads of songs, aspiring artists, hopeful songwriters ,and oceans of bands . I actually should spend a day listening to it to get what was going on in your head when you wrote this work...(but I better not).if you released this on terrestrial here in Canada I am sure it would get some fine airplay....I feel so good when I listen to your tunes I wanna dance.....that takes some doing...what exotic touches of mystical magic you posses as you placed everything so strategically. Like those big grand piano bass parts, they resonate with a texture of color that is captivating and it is like adding the finest spices to a wonderful meal . you got it down to true art capturing the spirit of truth through making beautiful music your are. it blows my mind unreal. like I said. you got it.

Thanks Steve ... for the recent station adds and the ever so gracious words ... sometimes I get a bit strange and over-the-top on the blogs ... it's really nice to know you are listening to my tunes some ... I am awed by your talent, and humbled to associate with you ... they can call it schmoozing all they want ... but even though I like to joke a lot ... I sincerely mean what I say about your talent, your music and your presence as a man ...

Keep the fire burning my friend ... the warmth feels oh so good

My pleasure to do that review there Steve (what the folk!), there are a number of tunes I want to include and have visited your page numerous times but have neglected to place the songs on the stations I have. My excuse, it is Really due to time constraints.

I like to actually listen to a song I am going to review. I would rather have something to say about it then just have it up at a station.

Anyways there are two I really want to do reviews on and have up at Music is Truth station. They are : " In my Former lives" and "Destination" which i have listened too a number of times and really like them a lot
They are very well designed and have an exceptional structure to them, and as well have very solid musical chorus- bridge flow and fine lyrical content ( as do all your tunes, I just seem to gravitate towards these ones at this time) ...

I dont know if you have a magic formula that you have hidden in your spice bottles at home that produces such fine songs. Perhaps it is the years of working it through practice, devotion as well as trial and error that has made you good at your craft. More likely it has been a combination of the following; a pinch of genius, a whole lot of passion, oodles of inspiration and all those life experiences you have been through ////////\\\\\\\.have a great day! bryon

Hi, Steve - "Velvet Underground: Under Review" is the DVD - includes interviews with their drummer (Maureen), Doug Yule, Billy Name...some other folks including a Bostonian who goes by the name Joe Harvard...without Lou's involvement it makes the whole thing seem a bit fluffy though...and it seems to presume a bit of knowledge about the band's oeuvre (which I definitely lack)...still, I enjoyed it...Joe Harvard demonstrated a tuning that Lou experimented with - tune all 6 guitar strings to "D" notes - lol - sounded kinda cool - I'm not sure how to that without breaking a couple of strings, might try though...

Rock on!

Thanks for your comments Steve and more so for all that you do to promote people on your stations (a fair stitch above what I do, what!). SOMEONE had to win the little boat and I don't see anyone complaining about it being you mate...least of all me. Congrats once more and now back to uploading future favourites :-)

Steve,

Thank you so much for adding Vitoslava to your IAC Diary... and for taking the time to write such an understanding de_scription. You totally made my day, and today was already shaping up to be a great one. I'm honored to have been granted a spot on such a fine playlist... Universal Hall Pass, Nada Surf, Bob Elliott.. and the mighty Steve Ison, to top it all off... excellent company indeed. I also owe you a sincere thanks for introducing me to Colleen Brown and Tiny Vipers; both are absolute gems which I probably wouldn't have discovered otherwise.

Hi Steve,
Thanks so much for your comments on "Beautiful Sunset",

I sometimes feel that I struggle a bit to get noticed in the vast indie ocean and every second day I tell my self, "right thats it, waste of time, give up, and take up gardening or something else" "Just quit all music"!!!

But one little sentence from Mr Ison and I'm chained to the instruments again!!!

Thanks again Steve.

Added your Bacharach number to my station. Reminds me, oddly, of some of the early Waterplanet songs (different lineup, a bit folkier then). Listened to some other songs, too. I really like what you do with backing vocals.

Cheers,

Steve,

We put up "Garden" the other day. It's on some of our other sites (myspace, soundclick), so you may have heard it already. I'm prioritizing getting some other stuff up.

We really appreciate the interest. Glad you liked Cindie's stuff. She has a few more up on myspace.

Steve,

Thanks for your very kind recent comment about "Heedless/Headless". We have LOADS of recordings - most done at home - so sound quality varies. I'll run your comment past my fellow Waterplanetian and see if I can't talk him into posting a few, despite their lack of top-notchness!

My sister, Cindie Landrum, also has a few songs up. I love her work, and she recorded her songs in our Luxurious Basement Studio. Listen when you get a chance.

How are things in Birmingham?

Hey how ya doin'? Thought I'd pop over and check out your song "Lou Reed" which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. You didn't record that in your house though, did you? Who's playing piano in that one? You and I are so much a like! I spend all my time either taking walks or in front of my computer! Ha!

Anyhow, you rock. We recorded eight new songs in June that sound like a Stooges/Joy Division cross. I'm very excited!!

Hope all is well with you:)
