Hugh, thanx ! The Cigar Box is a wild instrument. I first had to find sum sort of tuning on it and then figure out how to play it. I'll rerecord Biscuits & Bourbon since this was just a rough cut of a work in progress song to get an idea of what it sounds like. Kinda funny, I need to record it and then listen back cuz I really have no idea of how it truly sounds while playin it.

I'll definetly check out your tunes also.....thanx very much !

Alrighty then, reuploaded all the songs on my artist page because IAC somehow dropped them all off. Added "Such A Fool", recorded on our band's Mother Mable demo CD. Added "Old Friend"..... it's draft material that I'm working on in the studio. Take care everyone !

The Blues Providers played at Hibernian Hall in Harrisburg NC on December 14th, 2007. The happy occassion was in tribute to Robert Macleod for his 60th birthday party. The band played very well and I know Robert and Janice had a great time, as did all of their guests. There was an abundance of dancers hitting the dance floor, including some great swing dancing being performed.

These guys are a well rounded blues band, fun to be around and I enjoyed every minute of the music that night. Their dedicated playing styles, from the rich and passionate bass that Chuck Cole plays to the extremely dependable and resonant drum rhythm's Dave Scercy provides. Ted Dillard is fantastic on guitar. He works diligently to provide different guitar leads on their songs, strong rhythm support, and lead/backup vocals to the bands foundation. Shannon Hill rounds out the overall sounds with his witty and inspirational talent for harmonica playing and his selection with different and distinctive vocals sounds, an attribute to crafting a sound all their own.

I recorded them onsite using 8 mics and a Roland VS2480. I used SM58's on the vox, GT55's for overheads, primarily aimed for the drums, the traditional and dependable SM57's for guitar and harmonica and a coupla MK319 room mics for overall ambience. We plugged the bass in direct. The tracks were mixed, panned, FX added, and mastered at B# Studios, Concord NC.

If you get a chance to check these guys out, please do so, as you will truly enjoy their sound and comradery.

Enjoy ! :)
