The kawai 7 foot concert grand piano, my main tool. This one is late '70's vintage, a survivor of the Northridge earthquake of 1994. What a sound.

the premier drum set, akg 414b-uls mics out of position

from the dead space, looking through the music studio to the lounge door, where Edison sits at the XP machine and waits for his muse. A blinding white light emerges as the old ones arrive to tell their story through his lyrics, hahaha

the heart of the studio, the alesis HD 24 recorder, with 144 positions of patch bay. next door is 24 channels worth of compressor/limiter/expander/gate units...

From top to bottom, my overdub preamps, the ART TPS 2 channel tube jobber. Below that, EQ for monitors, lots of effects, and the console power supply. This rack sits under the mixing desk. Everything is within the reach of the engineer.

the mixing desk with the i-mac sitting above with the starry sky screensaver. the door of the lounge/vocals room is visible through the door to the music room, and then the door to the control room.

the left hand swinging platform of the desk, with the monitors out in free air space...Behringer Truth below, Alesis Monitor One MkII above...the console is visible in the lower right hand corner to show the position, perfect for close field mixing.

a close up of the mixer, with my special songwriting ink pen on it. the top of the pen is the skull of a large rat, haha. don't tell sluggo....

what i see when i mix in the wee hours...

the sound room

looking in the door to the sound room.

the studio made from a 56 foot by 12 foot office trailer, hey, it works.
