Hold your horses... stats to feed an entire staple..
What just happened?

This month the chart statistics suddenly jumped back to major listening stats compared with last month...

having +40 songs on my player its hmm very inspiring to see the numbers quantum-leap this month... the song with the lowest hits is on 37 hits this month (July)..

compared with last month long row of zeros´s !!!

can this chart be trusted? just saying.. its any artists dream to see these numbers and be pleased with the amazing positive jump in listener support.. but some natural doubt does occur ..

do people in general listen a lot to music in July, but hardly any in June?

or did the June stats malfunction...?

-or was anything promotion wise done by iacmusic lately to make this happen??

I know its not a great deal, and curiosity did kill the cat (just as the truth might kill the joy of this :) ... still Im wondering.. am I the only one to face this radical change or anyone else experiencing similar irregular stats ?

anyone?

I did read the Iacmusic post... (after posting this) but still dont really see how it explains the jump... still that seemed to only concern rankings and not hits..

Our post did concern "hits" as it is only through "hits", otherwise known as plays, that there are rankings. We said that we believe the settings for the new charting system were too conservative. We've modified the settings to be less conservative (more leeway on what and wherefrom and how long, counts as a play). Also, there's some programming being done on the database side to ensure that plays occurring simultaneously with one or more other plays, get queued for a few seconds so that they all can be recorded, and not skipped.

All in all it means greater accuracy. And more legitimate plays.
