What did you play for your "Wedding Dance"
We were at my Brother's wedding recently and wondered what they would choose as their 'First dance song'
They chose "I believe in you and me" by Whitney Houston. It's an OK song sure, but I've heard that at three weddings at least.

Just wondered what other people played.

Wedding Song! (not very original, eh?)
It's actually an old folk song redone by Paul Stookey of Peter Paul and Mary called
Wedding Song (And There Is Love)
Nowadays people would probably choose "White Wedding" by Billy Idol! ;-)

"You're the One For Me" (by Jonathan Richman)
If you didn't want me you shouldn't have been born
That started all the trouble now the damage been done
You never should have been born
Cuz now you're the one for me

And if you didn't want me to follow you around
You never should have showed up around my town
You never should have come to town
Cuz now you're the one for me

And it's too late cuz now you're stuck with me
Better give up, it's me you choose
I say "ha ha ha ha, it's me, you lose."
It's to late cuz now my minds is set
You better give up because i won't forget
That could never never be
Well you're the one for me
Oh baby, oh honey
Well it's too late
You're the one for me

If you didn't want me you shouldn't have been born
And we never should have met that morn
We never should have met
Cuz now you're the one for me

And if you didn't want me to want you this way
Well you never should have seen my rock n roll band play
You never should have seen the lovers play
Cuz now you're the one for me.

And it's too late cuz now you're stuck with me
Better give up, it's me you choose
I say "ha ha ha ha, it's me, you lose."
It's to late cuz now my mind is set
You better give up because i won't forget
That could never never be
Well you're the one for me
Oh babe, oh honey
It's just too late
You're the one for me
You're the one for me
You're the one, you're the one
You're the one, it's too late
You're the one

The best thing is that all the wedding guests thought that it was me who wrote and sang the song! I was very flattered.

"I Believe in You & Me" - as done by the 4Tops - pre-Whitney Houston.
Levi Stubbs really does a great job on it ....and probably every other song he ever sang!

Well the funny thing about this is, our reception was on a boat so we didn't get a dance. So the next day we went to an Oktober fest and said the first song they played would be our wedding dance....it turned out to be 'The Chicken Dance'...

aww...how romantic :-) but very memorable...

We had Two "wedding DANCE songs":

Sid Vicious - My Way

and

Peter Frampton - I'm In You (you're in me)

FOR the Wedding MARCH, t'was - The Breeders - Do You Love me Now

Princezzz was really cool though She let my band, and two other local favourites, Sanity in Death and Diversion Program, play the wedding reception too. Needless to say, we had a big loud MESS of original Indie music there, with no Wedding Singer dude or dudette!

Too much information here, Mr. Phlegm.

She was simply asking what was your wedding dance song.

Sigh. You're such a typical overly-sensitive Indie Artist type.

And there is NOTHING wrong with a good Wedding Singer, that plays the cover songs that make the young girls cry. I bet nobody cried at your wedding.
Maybe a Laugh or two.
